مختصر افسانہ

12 دسمبر 2001 کی صبح میں اس درخت تلے کهڑا تها جس پر کپڑا باندھ کر میں خودکشی کرنے والا تها
میرے پاس خودکشی کے لئے رسی اور زہر خریدنے کے بھی پیسے نہیں تهے ، اپنی بیوی کا پرانا دوپٹہ اپنی قمیض تلے چهپا کر میں گهر سے نکلا تها
میری ساتوں بیٹیاں سوچ رہی تهیں کہ میں کوئی مزدوری ڈھونڈنے گهر سے باہر جا رہا ہوں اور واپسی پر ان کے لئے کهانا لاؤں گا ،  میں انہیں ایسے دیکھ رہا تھا جیسے وہ میں اس شام کے بعد پھر کبھی انہیں نہیں دیکھ سکوں گا ،
کوئی نہیں جانتا تها میں اور میرے گهر والے پچھلے دو دن سے بھوکے ہیں ، مانگنے کی عادت مجھے کبھی نہیں رہی تھی
میرے پاس آخری آپشن خودکشی تها ،
میں نے بہت پڑها تها ، خودکشی حرام ہے ،  مایوسی کفر ہے ، لیکن اس صبح مجھے کچھ بھی غلط نہیں لگ رہا تھا ، کسی زمانے میں میں بھی خودکشی کرنے والے کو برا بهلا کہا کرتا تها اور ان کو بھی بڑے بڑے لیکچر دیا کرتا تها لیکن اس مقام پر میں سمجھ گیا بھوکے پیٹ کوئی لیکچر کوئی فلسفہ اثر نہیں کرتا
 دنیا کی ہر خواہش روٹی کے بعد جنم لیتی ہے جب تک روٹی نہیں ہوتی تب تک انسان صرف بھوک کے بارے میں سوچتا ہے
نہ تو میں اپنی بیٹیوں کی آنکھوں میں بهوک کی بے بسی دیکھ سکتا تھا اور نہ میں اتنا بہادر تها کہ کسی مصنف کی کامیابی والی کتابیں پڑھ کر اپنا وقت برباد کرتا ، 
کتابی  ، افسانوی باتوں میں اور حقیقت میں بہت فرق ہوتا ہے ، فلسفے لکھنے والوں نے شاید بهوکے پیٹ کوئی فلسفہ نہیں لکها ہوگا
اور نہ ہی انہوں نے اپنی بیٹیوں کی آنکھوں میں روٹی کو دیکھ کر پیدا ہونے والی چمک دیکھی ہوگی ، 
لوگوں کے لئے بہت آسان ہوتا ہے مشورے دینا اور آپ کو سمجهانا کہ کیا صیح ہے اور کیا غلط ؟ ہو سکتا ہے وہ صیح ہوں لیکن خالی پیٹ کچھ سمجھ نہیں آتا
مزدوری نہ ہونا ، گهر کا راشن،   بجلی کے بل ، گیس کا بل ،  بهوک ، کپڑے،  بیٹیوں کا جہیز  ، ان کی شادی ، ان کے بهوک سے لپٹے چہرے ، ساری زندگی لوگوں کو دیکھ کر ترستے ہوئے گزارنا
یہ سب نہیں ہونے والا تها مجھ سے ، مجھے زندگی سے موت بہتر لگنے لگی ، مرنا مشکل ہوتا ہے کوئی خوشی سے خودکشی نہیں کرتا لیکن جن کا جینا مرنے سے زیادہ مشکل ہو ان کا کیا ؟
مرنے کے لئے میرے پاس سیکڑوں وجوہات تهیں اور جینے کے لئے ایک بهی وجہ نہیں ؟
چوری ،  ڈاکہ ، ان سب کے لئے میرا ضمیر نہیں مانا _ میں ایک حقیقت پسند انسان تها ، میں جانتا تھا میری زندگی میں کوئی جادوئی چراغ نہیں آنے والا جو مجھے غموں کے اس سمندر سے نکال سکے
 اس وقت میں اپنے گاؤں کے کھیتوں میں کهڑا تها ، پاس ہی ایک چهوٹی سی نہر تهی ، پرندوں اڑتے ہوئے چاروں طرف بکھرے ہوئے تھے ،  اور میں مرنے کی مکمل تیاری کر چکا تھا
میں نے وہ دوپٹہ درخت کی ٹہنی سے باندها ، اور کچھ ہی دیر میں اس سے لٹک کر اپنی جان گنوانے والا تها ، میں تو دوپٹہ بھی گلے میں  ڈال چکا تها اب بس فقط اس پتھر کو ہٹانے کی دیر تهی جس پر میں کهڑا تها،   جانے وہ اتفاق تها یا پھر میری زندگی میں وہ سب ہی ہونا تها ، شاید وہ سب پہلے سے پلان کیا گیا تها میرے لئے ، ایک چهوٹا سا بچہ انہی کھیتوں میں ایک کهلونا گاڑی چلاتے ہوئے گزرا تها ، وہ چونکہ کچھ گنگا بهی رہا تها اس لئے میں اس کی طرف دیکھنے پر مجبور ہو گیا
غالباً وہ سات سال کا تها ، اور اسے دیکھتے ہوئے میں ایک پل کے لئے واقعی بهول چکا تھا کہ میں یہاں کیا کرنے آیا تها ، اس بچے نے بھی شاید میرا دیکھنا محسوس کر لیا تبھی اس نے پلٹ کر مجھے اوپر سے نیچے دیکها
میں بھی اسے دلچسپی سے دیکھنے لگا
وہ بھی وہیں کهڑا رہا اور میں اس کے جانے کا منتظر تها کیونکہ اس کے بعد ہی میں اطمینان سے خودکشی کر سکتا تها
تقریباً دو منٹ تک ہم ایسے ہی ایک دوسرے کو دیکھتے رہے پھر غیر ارادی طور پر میں نے وہ دوپٹہ گلے سے نکالا اور دو چار قدم بڑها کر اس تک پہنچا،  میں گھٹنے کے بل اس کے سامنے بیٹھ گیا
اور اس کے گال پر ہاتھ لگا کر مسکراتے ہوئے اس سے اس کا نام پوچھا ، اس کا نام عمر تها اور پھر میں نے اس سے کچھ اور بھی سوال کئے تهے ، وہ بڑا معصوم تها اسے دیکھ کر مجھے اپنا بچپن یاد آنے لگا ، یونہی دو منٹ تک باتیں کرتے کرتے میری نظر اس کے کھلونے گاڑی پر گئی
وہ مٹی کا بنا ہوا تها ، جس کے ٹائر  ، سیٹیں اور باڈی سب مٹی کا تها جس کے اوپر خوبصورت رنگ کا ایک گفٹ پیک کور لگا تها ، اسے جتنی خوبصورتی سے بنایا گیا تها لگ نہیں رہا تها کہ وہ مٹی سے بنا ہے
جب میں نے بچے سے اس کی قیمت پوچھی تو میں حیران رہ گیا ، اس نے پچاس روپے بتائے جبکہ اس میں زیادہ سے زیادہ پانچ روپے کا سامان لگا تها ، میں غور سے اسے ہاتھوں میں لے کر اوپر سے نیچے تک دیکھنے لگا ، جتنی پتلی لکڑیاں،  مٹی اور کور ان سب کو ملا کر بڑی مہارت کے ساتھ بنائی ہوئی وہ گاڑی واقعی بہت خوبصورت تهی
بہت بار راستے ہوتے نہیں ہیں لیکن بنانے پڑتے ہیں ، بس ہماری زرا سی نظر کی بات ہوتی ہے اور سب کچھ ہمیں صاف نظر آتا ہے
جیسے وہ پیاسا کوا تها ،
جیسے اس وقت میں خود کو وہیں مٹی کی گاڑی بناتے ہوئے دیکھ رہا تھا ،  ہر انسان سب کچھ نہیں کر سکتا لیکن کچھ نہ کچھ ضرور کر سکتا ہے ، ایسا تو ہو ہی نہیں سکتا کہ کسی انسان میں کوئی بھی ٹیلنٹ نہ ہو
 اور دوسری بات جادو نہیں ہوا کرتے ، ایسا معجزات نہیں ہوتے جن سے ہم اپنے مسائل سے فوراً نکل کر خوشیوں کی ایک وادی میں پہنچ جائیں جہاں شہزادے اور پریاں ہوں، یہاں لڑنا پڑتا ہے محنت کرنی پڑتی ہے بہت لمبا سفر طے کرنا ہوتا ہے ، پریوں اور شہزادوں والی زندگی سے نکل کر دیکهو تو زندگی بہت مشکل ہوتی ہے
اس بچے کے جانے کے بعد میں درخت کی ٹہنی سے وہ دوپٹہ اتار رہا تھا  ، مجھے خود یقین نہیں آ رہا تها تھوڑی دیر پہلے میں دل و جان سے خودکشی کے ارادے سے یہاں آیا تها اور میں واقعی خودکشی کر بھی لیتا اگر عمر میری زندگی میں نہ آتا
ہر کسی کی زندگی میں نہ تو عمر آتا ہے اور نہ ہی عمر و عیار کوئی خزانوں سے بهرا تخت ، نہ ان کو اتنا سوچنے کی مہلت ملتی ہے لیکن خودکشی آخری راستہ نہیں تها یہ میں نے بہت بعد میں جانا ، خودکشی کرنے سے پہلے ہمیں ایک سکینڈ کے لئے ضرور سوچنا چاہیے کیونکہ خود کشی سے پہلے ایک راستہ ضرور ہوتا ہے
میں وہیں اس نہر کے پاس مٹی سے جا کر وہی کهلونا گاڑی بنانے لگا ، پاس سے ہی لکڑی اور میری بیوی کا دوپٹہ جسے چرا کر میں خودکشی کرنے والا تها اس کے ٹکڑے کر کے میں نے ان گاڑیوں میں بڑی خوبصورتی سے لگائے ،
میں اتنا ذہین تو نہیں تها کہ ایک بار دیکھ لینے پر وہ سب بنانا سیکھ جاتا لیکن اس وقت حالات اور مقام ایسا تها کہ میں صرف ایک بار دیکھ لینے کے بعد نہ صرف اس جیسا بلکہ اس سے اچھی کهلونا گاڑی بنا چکا تها
میں نے اس صبح بارہ گاڑیاں بنائیں ، اور ان کو سوکھنے کے لیے دھوپ پر رکھ دیا
تقریباً شام کے وقت میں اس جگہ سے واپس اپنے گاؤں کی طرف نکلا تها جہاں میں خودکشی کے لئے آیا تها ، میں نے پچاس روپے والے اس کھلونے کو تیس روپے میں بیچنا شروع کیا ، اور کیا آپ یقین کریں گے ان بارہ کھلونوں کو بکنے میں بارہ منٹ بھی نہیں لگے
وہ میری کامیابی تهی ، شام کو تین سو ساٹھ روپے سے میں روٹی خرید کر میں گهر واپس گیا تها جہاں میرے سب بچے دروازے کو دیکھ رہے تھے ، اور مجھے دیکھ کر وہ بھاگتے ہوئے میرے پاس آئے

وہ تهی میری زندگی کی سب سے حسین رات جب ہم سب گهر والوں نے پیٹ بهر کر کهانا کهایا تها ، اگلی صبح ایک بار پھر میں نے وہیں اس نہر کے پاس جا کر مٹی کے کھلونے بنانا شروع کئے ، سو کھلونوں کو بکنے میں سو منٹ نہیں لگے
میں جانتا ہوں قسمت ہر کسی پر اتنی مہربان نہیں ہوتی اور نہ ہی سب کو اتنی جلدی راستے مل جاتے ہیں ، کسی کو بہت وقت لگ جاتا ہے کوئی لمحوں میں منزل پا لیتا ہے
اس شام روٹی خریدنے کے بعد بھی میرے پاس آٹھ سو روپے باقی تهے
میں نے کھلونوں کی نئی اقسام بنانی شروع کی جو کسی کے ذہن میں بھی نہ تهے ، کام کی وجہ سے میرے ہاتھ مضبوط ہو چکے تھے لوگوں نے مجھے کاپی کرنا شروع کیا تها ، میری زندگی میں خوشیاں بارش کی طرح برسنے لگیں ، میں نے کام میں اضافہ اور تبدیلیاں شروع کیں
اور آج _ _ _ _ _ _

تقریباً سترہ سال بعد ، میں اپنے شہر کا سب سے بڑا بزنس مین ہوں ، میرا بینک بیلنس اتنا ہے کہ آپ لوگوں کی سوچ بھی ختم ہو جائے گی
میرے دو ذاتی ہوٹلز ہیں ، مختلف شہروں میں میرے سترہ کالج ہیں ، اور دو پیٹرول پمپ  ، میری مختلف فیکٹریوں میں اس وقت تقریباً چالیس ہزار ملازم کام کر رہے ہیں 
کل تک جو لوگ مجھے دیکھ کر منہ دوسری طرف کرتے تهے آج وہ میرے قدموں میں سر جهکانے کو تیار کهڑے ہیں
کامیابی یہی ہوتی ہے ،
آج سوچتا ہوں اگر اس صبح میں نے اس درخت سے لٹک کر خودکشی کر لی ہوتی تو کیا ہوتا ، اگر اسی لمحے عمر نہ آتا تو آج میں یہ ڈائری نہ لکھ رہا ہوتا ؟ مجھے اپنی زندگی کا وہ دن کبھی نہیں بهولتا جب دو دن کا بهوکا میں خودکشی کے لئے اپنی بیوی کا دوپٹہ لے کر گیا تها ، میں آج بھی تقریباً ہر دوسرے مہینے جاتا ہوں وہیں اسی درخت کے نیچے اسی نہر کے پاس ، اور گاؤں والے مجھے دیکھ کر سوچتے ہیں کہ میں اس درخت تلے بیٹھ کر کیا کرتا ہوں ،
آج مجھے دیکھ کر کوئی سوچ بھی نہیں سکتا
2001 میں بهوک کی وجہ سے زندگی سے مایوس ہو کر میں خودکشی کرنے درخت تلے کهڑا تها اور آج 2018  میں ، اتنے بڑے شہر میں میرے ٹاپ کا کوئی بزنس مین نہیں ہے
چلو آج کی ڈائری ختم کرتا ہوں
